It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Hello and welcome back to Tobias Talks

I find that I don't often contemplate my week until it is time to write this blog, as has been touched on by countless people before me, journaling can be a very powerful tool to track your progress and help keep you aware of the results of the efforts you are making.

This week my weight has fluctuated a bit but overall is about the same as it was last week, I'm not going to let this discourage me though. I've been to the gym 5 days a week last week, will only be twice this week but I'll take that. Health and fitness wise I think it's going pretty well.

On Saturday I will be undertaking my longest single day walk ever. I am attempting to cover 26 miles in a day. AKA a marathon. I have been slowly increasing my walking distance and it's given me even more respect for long distance runners as even at a walking pace these distances have been difficult.

I will be leaving at 7am and I am giving myself until 7pm to get home. Plenty of time by all accounts. Perhaps with a swift meal at a country pub. The value of hiking and walking can not be overemphasised for me. It is literally the activity keeping me mentally and physically healthy. So I will continue. I will work hard, I will sweat, ache and most likely bleed, but again, I will achieve it.

Today I weigh 275.2lbs, I will not be hitting my weight loss goal for the month, but I don't see it as a failure. I set a big goal and I didn't achieve it, but I moved in the right direction and I'm happy with my progress.

Wish me luck and thanks for reading.

Your friend, Tobias.
