Not all those who wander are lost

Hello and welcome to Tobias Talks.

The biggest thing I did this week, fitness wise was repeated my walk from my home to my work, a journey of about 9 miles by car but using a slightly meandering route across public footpaths it came out nearer to 11 miles. I was again joined by the lord of the rings audiobook (god that's a long book). I've walked 26 miles whilst listening to it and I'm less than half way through the first book. I imagine I'll travel the distance to Mordor before Sam and Frodo get there! Which, if you are interested, was approximately 1700 miles, or the equivalent of walking from London to Serbia.

Unfortunately, walking isn't the only way that I lived like a hobbit this week, I ate like one too. First breakfast, second breakfast, elevensee's. I had them all! In seriousness I did eat a bit more than I should have but there were no severe screw ups. I didn't eat whole chocolate bars or huge bowls of pasta. No takeaway pizzas with so many calories per slice that the red cross should be supplying them to Yemen. I had the odd bit of chocolate and sweets but again nothing crazy. I did enough to stay exactly where I was, weight wise.

The goal for the coming week is to not eat a single sweet all week. Just a small change but one that I think is manageable. Although there is room in a healthy diet for the odd piece of chocolate I find that portion control is an issue for me. I will also not have a single drop of alcohol as that really is no good for anyone. There a dozen health issues related to drinking alcohol. Not in the least because it is extremely fattening, both in calories and in the way it is processed in the body.

I will be walking most evenings, for anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour, and continuing with stretches and using a massage gun and roller to get my body as mobile as possible. I will end the blog here as there isn't much more to discuss, thanks for reading!

Your friend, Tobias.
